Oneika Russell is a visual artist, lecturer and arts blogger. She holds a PhD in Art concentrated in Media, Film & Video Art from Kyoto Seika University, Japan. She also holds an MA in Interactive Media from Goldsmiths College, UK and a Diploma in Painting from Edna Manley College of the Visual & Performing Arts, Jamaica. She has worked at The National Gallery of Jamaica and Edna Manley College. In 2007 she was a recipient of The Commonwealth Award and The Japanese Government’s Monbukagakusho scholarship. As an artist, Oneika has acted as visiting artist and guest lecturer at Pratt MWP school and with Cornell University in the US. She has also participated and presented in the field of arts and technology in Malaysia at the 17th Commonwealth Conference of Education Ministers and at various talks in Jamaica, the US and Japan. Her work has been exhibited in various exhibitions in Singapore, The US, UK, Japan, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Martinique and Canada. She is also currently a part of Ehtoh Creative, a creative goods production team.
